IMPORTANT RESOURCES FOR MEMBERS

LPA provides a comprehensive range of online resources which are available for Members to access and download from the Members’ Area.

Workplace Relations Guides

LPA’s Guides aim to give all LPA Members a more detailed understanding of the recent changes to industrial relations legislation, the new Modern Awards system and immigration. These Guides include a Bargaining Kit, overviews of all relevant Modern Awards, a general Guide to the Entertainment (Subclass 420) Visa application process and the Loose Leaf Industrial Award Services (LLIAS). The LLIAS provides the full text of the award, a quick index, a register of variations, wages and allowances summaries and commentary on ambiguous provisions of the award.

The Fair Work Act 2009 and the National Employment Standards

The Fair Work Act (the Act) came into operation on 1 July 2009 and replaced the Workplace Relations Act 1996. The Act contains 10 National Employment Standards (NES), which are the minimum conditions of employment for all employees in the national workplace system. The NES came into operation on 1 January 2010 and form a safety net of conditions including entitlements to leave, public holidays, notice of termination and redundancy pay.
