PRODUCE AUSTRALIA


The development, viability and sustainability of commercial production is an issue that affects producers,
venues, ticketing companies and all key players in the Australian live entertainment industry, including
performers and employees.

‘Produce Australia’ is a Working Party made up of leaders in the Australian live entertainment industry
which examines the commercial production of live entertainment in Australia.

Produce Australia will consider:
a) the commercial production of musicals and theatre;
b) co-production between the commercial and subsidised sector; and
c) venue production and co-production.

Produce Australia will make recommendations regarding the optimal policy, commercial and industry
framework that will encourage the development, viability and sustainability of commercial production
including:
a) the viability and sustainability of the business of existing commercial producers;
b) the development of commercial producers and existing barriers to entry
c) the market for and the marketing of live entertainment in Australia
d) content and product
e) commercial issues and industry dealings
f) the international standing of Australian commercial production.
