Immigration Insurance Scheme Announced

LPA LAUNCHES INSURANCE SCHEME FOR ENTERTAINMENT (SUBCLASS 420) VISA APPLICATIONS

Live Performance Australia (LPA) is proud to announce the launch of a scheme for Members to purchase adequate insurance for applicants of Entertainment (Subclass 420) Visas that will meet the requirements of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) for stays of up to 90 days in Australia.

Entertainment (Subclass 420) Visas have a mandatory condition attached that requires visa holders of this subclass to maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance whilst in Australia. LPA is aware that it has been difficult for Members to comply with this requirement since it came into operation on 14 September 2009. This scheme is designed to assist members to meet this requirement.

The scheme:

• is exclusively available to LPA Members only;
• provides a cost-effective travel insurance product that includes medical benefits at only $51.00 per person for stays of up to 90 days;
• provides a simplistic, secure and efficient means of meeting the health insurance requirement that can be purchased online via credit card 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
• once purchased, provides insurance certificates shortly thereafter via email and can also be downloaded directly from the website; and
• has been approved by DIAC for visa applicants of the Entertainment (Subclass 420) Visa for stays of up to 90 days.

The Travel Insurance Policy covers:

• Emergency Assistance Services that can be accessed anytime, anywhere in the world and includes medical evacuation expenses
• Overseas Medical Expenses of medical and additional expenses incurred by the insured person following injury or sickness occurring whilst on a journey; and
• Baggage: indemnity for loss, theft or damage to certain personal effects or where the insured person’s personal effects are delayed, misdirected or temporarily mislaid by any transport carrier.
